Stressful weekend

My most anticipated weekend (so far) this year was over. I have been thinking of that event for almost a month… there are times that I’m praying that it will rain or have a strong typhoon so it would be cancelled… or my boss will change his mind and just not let me attend it. But anyways, all ends well, there have been rains and strong winds, but still it pushed through. It was such a great experience for me… being on my own… being a complete stranger in the midst of different people and the place… I felt so small and ignorant with them but at the same time, I’m thankful and proud to be with them… it was really such a great honor for me to sit among them, and talk about some things that I am not so familiar about… and eventually learn from them.

I went home so stressed but happy with that different experience… I think I need more of that kind of gatherings so I can developed more of my personality… hehehe…because I’m the relatively silent type but deadly kind of person!:)

Maroon's last 2 games...

I was so sick last Thursday, that i wasn't able to go to work; i had the chance to watch the UP vs. FEU game on TV. The game ended with FEU winning over UP, I was really hurt... the Maroons players have exerted their efforts but I guess, the other team is just too lucky to have a good set of players...

The game last Saturday didn't help me to recuperate from sickness, they again lost to ADMU... I just observed that the players has a little problem with their free throws.. maybe they should give a little attention to it and of course, try to improve thier outside shots because other teams has too many big players compared to the Maroons...

I hope they will make their next game have a different outcome.... Just fight till the end of the game... you can do it guys! UP FIGHT!!!

Meeting pushed through

The supposedly meeting last Monday pushed through yesterday, Tuesday. Good thing, we were able to reset it because both parties have agreed on a very promising project. It might help our company to return to its track, we have been slowing our pace for few years now because of the lack of financing. Anyway, I hope the meeting will help us to have a new start.

A Monday High In Spirit That Turned Out Awful

It’s a Monday today, and it is very important for me to start the week with a smile. I woke this morning with a smile (even if I slept late last night), because I am still overwhelmed with the Ateneo’s 3-straight win in UAAP basketball. It was really a good birthday treat for Chris Tiu, who’s celebrating his natal day tomorrow, July 15. But my morning turned sour around 9:15. My boss was supposed to have a meeting with some foreign visitors at 10am. I had set this meeting a month ago, and I am really anticipating for this meeting. Since a month ago, I didn’t hear anything from the visiting party, and I, on the other hand, didn’t communicate with them either. I thought all the while that everything was set, and ready to push through today. Around 9:15, I called the visiting party to confirm if they are still coming. It turned out that they had cancelled the meeting because I did not call them back to confirm the meeting details. I was really shocked, how come that it turned out that bad… I was to blame because I did not call them… it might be considered as miscommunication between the two parties, but I am worried that this might give our company a bad reputation… of not being open and interested to accommodate foreign counterparts… I really feel depressed now. I waited for almost a month for this meeting, but things just went to waste. I don’t know what to do. I also felt more than guilty because my boss didn’t say anything nasty to me for putting a very good opportunity to waste. I really don’t know what to think now. I know I share a mistake on this… I made my day and my week as well a bad one… I hope to redeem myself. Good thing, my officemates are very supportive… consoling, cheering, and backing me up. In my few years of stay here, this is the very 1st time that this kind of misunderstanding happened. I hope this would not happen ever again…. I hope to be okay before the day ends… I really hope… I hope I will…

# 14 Martin Reyes?

as i have mentioned in my previous entry, it's only now that i have been glued watching UAAP basketball. Even when i was in college, i didn't give a damn of at least watching the games of the fighting maroons. my primary reason why i became so concerned now in UAAP is because i want to watch the games of Chris Tiu of Blue Eagles. Back in season 69 (if i'm not mistaken) when Adamson got in the Final Four, they had a game with Ateneo. I watched that game live in Araneta, and that's when i first saw Chris Tiu plays. From then on, I tried to catch all his games, until only last summer in the NSL games that i had the chance to focused on his games. then i became interested to how collegiate basketball games go (i have seen PBA games from time to time, and i feel so bored!). I adjusted all my activities and promised myself to catch all the UAAP games especially on weekends; and tried to be home early on Thursdays to at least catch the 2nd game coz it's really impossible for me to catch the 2pm game. Anyway, i got to watch on TV all the 71st season's games so far.

Aside from feeling victorious, because Ateneo won because of Chris Tiu's 26 points, last Sunday's games left an impact to me because UP won. And i saw this #14 guy from UP Fighting Maroons named Martin Reyes. I was really impressed on how he played. I can't help but shout everytime he throws the ball from the 3-pt area. He's really great getting 21 pts, with some 3-pt shots in it. I have read from the newspaper that he's a sophomore? so that means, he still have 2-3 yrs stay with the team. I now became more interested watching the games because aside from Chris Tiu, there's now a Martin Reyes! :)

UAAP 2008

It’s been 3 years since I graduated in college, but now is the only time that I’ve been interested in UAAP games esp. basketball (as I’ve said I was busy studying when I was in college… hahaha). I have waited for the UAAP opening since weeks ago, and so last Saturday, with my brother and sister, I was sitting in front of the TV set by 11am (we were able to watch the show on sports accidents and Taekwando TV).

The season’s host, (my alma mater) University of the Philippines presented a very ‘cultural’ opening. After the 2 hrs presentation, the games officially began.

1st game, FEU vs. AdU
Sorry bro and sis, your school lost, soar higher next game…

1st game, UP vs. NU
After a win-less 70th season, Unibersidad ng Pilipinas, is really back to fight... With the very enthusiastic (Isko) players and great shots from #14 Martin Reyes, the fighting maroons got their first win this season and now has another reason to celebrate the centennial year…. Go UP!!!!

2nd game, ADMU vs. DLSU
Amidst the 22,008 (live) viewers of blue and green, Ateneo got their first win this season thru the help of Chris Tiu’s 26 points in the game… GO CHRIS TIU!!! :)

UP was really a big surprise and they only deserve a BIG applause. I have no idea how they played last season but based on what had happened last year and on what I saw during their game with NU, it only means that they have improved a lot. The team has obviously worked hard to win that game, and may I single out Martin Reyes for giving impressive 3-point shots. With that kind of enthusiasm and attitude, the Fighting Maroons will have a far better season this year. Keep it up Iskos! Make our centennial celebration more special… UP FIGHT!

As usual the Ateneo-La Salle game had the most essential crash among the games last weekend. Their game has always been a crucial one; you’ll never know who will win when the time is still ticking. Both teams have very powerful players, not to mention their ace players, who show exceptional plays up to the last second. Ateneo won, and it’s really a good start for them to get the championship title (Iskos, let’s share them the title this year). But I was really delighted that Ateneo won (sorry Archers ), my sister kept on giving me ‘dreadful’ looks every time Ateneo scores because I can’t help but shout. hahaha… This coming Thursday, I think I will be given again those ‘dreadful’ looks because it’s ADMU vs AdU, and my sister happens to be from AdU. GO ATENEO!

This is my first online journal.

I have been keeping a journal since 2001, although I started writing randomly back in high school. My very first entry on my first journal was December 2001; I was in first year college. Since then, I kept a notebook/journal, where I wrote my thoughts every time I want to write or I have something to write, and/or if I have time (I’d been so busy studying and sleeping… :) back then).

Now I have decided to have a journal online.
